Would Burns would have been an Ayr Utd fan or would his loyalty have been commanded by the DoonHamers? ( 'mon the Honest Men).
Would his blood have boiled at the invasion of Iraq or would he have celebrated the downfall of a tyrant?
Can you imagine him listening to King's of Leon on his ipod or would he be off to Glyndebourne for opera and dainty cucumber pieces?
Well, although we will never know these things for sure, some arguments seem more convincing than others.
And that's the point of this blog.
We'll look at the burning ( or merely smouldering) issues of the day. We'll be irreverant, we'll be serious-minded but, most of all, we'll be debating and learning about Burns.
Feel free to be brief and humorous and feel equally free to be erudite and analytical - but we're not looking for essays.
